Need Longer TV cable? More Adjustment? Help Fast!
Need Longer TV cable? More Adjustment? Help Fast!
I have installed an SLP T-Ram into my '92 5.7 Z28 and I can't get the damn car to shift. I have adjusted the TV cable to it's max at the TB end, but I was wondering if there is more adjustment at the tranny end; otherwise, I am going to need a new LONGER TV cable. Is it possible to find a longer one for my car or out of another GM car. Unfortunately, these intakes came on the '92 Firehawks and they only made like 2 Autos, I'll never find the right part for that. I need to drive the car to my mechanic to finnish the exhaust on Thursday. It is only a mile down the road, but that's a long trip in 1st gear! HELP PLEASE!

There are no adjuster for the TV cable at the tranny end. You can get a third party cable which is more adjustable than the stock GM one from http://www.wrenchhead.com.
This might fit your vehicle.

The TV cable is adjustable at the tranny end (at least mine is).
All you have to do is unsecure the cable at the TB grab the cable-housing and unscrew. Try one revolution at a time.
This is possible (again at least on mine) because the end which attaches to the tranny (I'm not saying that it threads into the tranny - it has a bolt holding it for that) is threaded where the cable sleeve attaches, it is actually two pieces.
Good luck.
