Wow, A sight about transmissions and stuff.

So far this seems to be the place to be to ask questions about transmissions.
I have a 4L60E that's not holding at the upper RPM's basically it holds to about 6,000 than it hits about 6,500 real quick like. It hit the rev limiter at 6,500
This will happen on the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift. Any ideas on how to fix this? And if need to rebuild what rebuild kits are available out there.

Sounds like the band may be worn and slipping on the 1-2 shift. A corvette servo may help, but it may be too far gone by the time you could notice it.

Good rebuild kits at excellent prices are sold at http://www.hptransparts.com

Their alto red eagle band is the widest band that will fit in the stock case, but the drawback is a new input drum or turning the old one in a lathe is the only way to realize the potential since the stock band wore a pattern into the drum and it HAS TO BE FLAT to take advantage. Their powerpack 3-4 kit adds 9 frictions to the 3-4 pack and the steels are kolene coated to resist heat and warpage. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com could get you a new input drum assembly, you must ask them through the customer service mail line. Ask for your input drum assembly.

This will require a full rebuild though, if your up to the task.
