I have replaced my clucth and now I can grind gears. since I do not want to do this how do I adjust the linkage correctly? I have an 83Z28 5 speed.

It's been a while since I had the mechanical linkage in my '83, but I'll give you the theory anyway (even if I don't remember all the parts and pieces). Basically, if you are grinding, you want to effectively SHORTEN the linkage. The grinding is being caused by the clutch not bieng all the way disengaged when you press the pedal. If you shorten the lingage a little it should help you out. You want to make sure that you don't adjust it so far that the pressure plate is preloaded though. this could cause clutch slippage and premature wear/failure. Somebody help me out if I'm forgetting anything, I think this is what you need though.
