Re: t5 Question
Should be about the same.. I know for sure the iroc v6 and v8 fit the t-5.. not positive about the fourth gens but i would be suprised if it changed. Also dont know much about the pontiacs but I've heard they are nearly identical. If your t-5 is jacked and needs replacing anyways, and you have the other one... it wouldnt hurt to remove the old t-5 and set both trannys side by side and do some measuring. Good luck

Re: t5 Question
I'm told that the 4th gen V6 T-5 transmissions used the Mustang case. I could be wrong, but I got the information from this board. Look around and you will probably find it. I left one on the ground when I bought my '94 3.4 to put in my S10. I wish I had took the transmission too.

Re: t5 Question
The V6 bellhousing is going to be different. I think the 3.4 bellhousing is deeper than the 2.8 bellhousing. It's been about 12 years since I built my truck and I can't remember what parts were different. I know I couldn't use the 3.4 bellhousing, flywheel or clutch in my S10. The 3.4 flywheel is much thicker than the 2.8 flywheel. I had to use the S10 T-5 too. The bolt pattern on the 3.4 bellhousing is going to be way off on the 5.0.
Why not rebuild the original transmission?

Re: t5 Question
the clutch is smaller, and i think the input shaft at pilot bearing is longer, other than that, i would think you can use it, or just get a wc input shaft and install it in the v6 tranny

Re: t5 Question
The 4th gen and Mustang T5's install straight-up/plumb. The 3rd gen T5's are clocked at 17 deg clockwise (when viewed from the rear of the trans). Third gen bellhousings are unique.
