T-5 question

This may sound stupid, but how can you tell a World class from a regular T-5??

Look at the front of it, there will be a round plate with the words TIMKIN on the edge if its World Class. Also, the ones I've seen have a partial VIN etched into them, the last 8 digits or so. The 2nd digit will be a J (for 88) or later. (J,K,L,M,N)

Look at the front countergear bearing, like Kevin said. If it's the 1st design it will be completely flat except with its outside edge looking kind of rolled-over, and very shiny, looks sort of like an upside-down freeze plug. If it's the 2nd design aka "World Class", it's the Timken tapered roller, which has a dull finish, the edges are sharp, and it has a depression in the middle that makes it look like there's a ridge about ¼" wide all the way around it.

Click on T5 speeds on the left side... there's an identification guide.
