90* V6 Trannies to V8's?

Can you bolt up an automatic or manual transmission from a 90* V6 (3.8 or 4.3, mainly looking for a newer 3.8 from a 4th gen.) to a V8?

the 3.8 if its the same as the 3.8 in the earlier bonnevilles uses the 60* bellhousing but one from a 90* V6 (4.3) would work.

Remember that they are internally weaker.

Should be ok behind a mild motor though...
