4L60e Tailshaft Housing

I can get a good deal on a L31 and 4L60e combo to swap into my 85 Z28, but the problem is that it is out of a 4x4 Tahoe. Does anyone here know if it is possible to swap the tailshaft housing from a F-body 4L60e onto this trans along with the VSS? Or does the whole tailshaft inside the trans have to be swapped out also?
Thanks For the help.

Hate to tell ya, but youll have to change the tailshaft too... and find the tail housing that will fit (4 or 6 bolt, depending on what year 4l60e it is)...To chang the tailshaft you have to completely tear the trans apart..good time to freshen it up..

That's what I thought but I was hoping it would be a little easier. Oh well I guess the trans will just get a good overhaul before it goes in.
Thanks for the info.

not to mention a computer to control everything if you go that route. expect $1000 approx additional for that.

Re: 4L60e Tailshaft Housing

Well I am running the car with the L31 intake and harness at first to get it running, but I am swapping to the 01 Express Van computer to get rid of the rev limit problem. Later I will swap intakes to something a little more performance based like a efi singleplane or something. Right now I just want to get the car moving again, and I can get a really good deal on this drivetrain setup.
