How bad would a V6700R4 allowed to run dry be

How bad would a V6700R4 allowed to run dry be

An 18 year old girl drove it for a month with the tranny getting progressively worse not having any idea that the tranny needed fluid to operate.

I need to know whether the tranny is rebuildable or not.

There's really no way to tell without popping it open. Maybe it would be better to buy one that you have seen work,then have it rebuilt.
