which tail shaft do i need short or long to replace factory 700r4 any info you have would help

A long tail shaft TH350 (9") is close enough to the length of a 700R4 to do a direct driveshaft swap. You'll need the B&M kit also since the rear tranny mount is in a different location, the torque arm needs a place to mount and the TH350 detent cable is different from the 700R4's TV cable.

If you have a short tail shaft TH350 (6") you'll need a driveshaft from a 82-83 f-body that had the 200c tranny.
