Transmission Clunk

I am hearing a clunking noise from my ’91 Formula 350 every time I go from Park to Reverse, Reverse to Drive…etc. I don’t hear any noise when I let my foot off the accelerator and then get back into it. I thought it to be universal joints, but when I get under the car they feel tight. I grab the yoke coming out of the transmission and the driveshaft and there doesn’t appear to be any slop. When I try to rotate the driveshaft by hand with the transmission in Park, I hear a clunking noise from the rear end of the transmission. It sounds like its about 5 inches from where the shaft goes into the rear of the transmission. I am wondering what exactly to look for or fix for this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check the transmission mount. Its very common for the stock type mounts to break. Its easy to change and only costs about $10 for a stock one, or $20 if you get a polyurethane one.
