Converter Recommendations?
I am looking for apx 2400 stall to add within the next month and I would like to get a recommendation on what brand converter to use.
I have heard bad news from B&M and cheap summit converters. Good & bad from TCI (decent cost). And all good stuff form Vigilante (but way too $$). Local shops use buckeye which I have never heard of.
I would like something reliable and good but I of course don't want to spend too much $. In the future I am planning on adding some more horses so I want something that will handle the abuse too.
------------------
'84 Camaro w/ Large Jouranl 327 bored .030 over; 3.73 geared Auburn Limited Slip Diff. FlowMaster Muffler w/ Shortie Headers. TH-350 Built Trany Underneath B Mega-Shifter. Many Engine compartment Dress Up Mods. Edelbrock High Flow Water Pump w/ Flex-a-Lite Cooling Fan.
Work in progress is Sponh Torque Arm just installed working towards 2400 stall convertor. www.chartermi.net~brodgers

I know you may be impatient, but your best bet is to change the convertor only once...
And one of the best out there is Vigilante..
I strongly recommend it, and you've already said people say good things about the convertor..
Save up the money awhile longer, don't let it burn a hole in your pants, and you will truely think it was worth while if you get the Vigilante
------------------
Sportsman II 72 CC heads, Pete Jackson gear drive, Performance Resources chip, Edelbrock 1 5/8" headers and Edelbrock cat back exhaust, hi-flow cats, Trans-go stage 3 shift kit, Vigilante 9.5" 2800 stall convertor, SLP cold air induction, SLP roller camshaft, 24lb ADS injectors, AFPR, 3.45 rear end gears, and other goodies...

If you are running the TH350 transmission the I would use the 10" from Continental apx. stall 2,500 rpm. They sell for $365.00, give me a call if you need one. 800 7763288 Mon-Sat 11-7 PST and I will answer any questions you might have concerning this.
Hope This Helps!!!

Sorry, for the repeat of my message, I thought it did not accept it. I can see that I was wrong. I have been a distributor for Continental for the last 21 years. I do not keep TC's in stock anymore, due to the costs of the TC's & varibles of each torque converters. Usually it takes 2-4 days to have Kris build a TC to match whatever transmission I am working on or what I need for a particular customers order.
