I have an 83 TA which is NOT Posi. I just had my motor rebuilt & would like to put in a new rearend with Limited Slip..

Basically I have no idea what I'm looking for.. I currently have rear disk brakes & I think 3.23 gears..

Do I just need to have the differential replaced & a new set of 3.73 gears, or do I need to replace the entire rear end?

If I replace the entire rear, what would I replace it with?

Any help & technical advise would be greatly appreciated..

you can keep the housing,ring gear and posi unit ect... will cost $500-600 and you should have someone do it for you if you've never done it. removing and replacing the rearend is easy though. good time to add some springs,shocks & hothkis LCAs & panhard bar,good stuff. I have an '84 w/ a 5.0 HO,700r4,3.73 limited slip posi,it's a great gear ratio for this engine.
