T56 swap in progress.
Thanks to all the great info archived here, I took the plunge and got a T56 setup from a '95 TA and swapped out my TH700-R4.
Interestingly, my '82 already had a hole for the master cyl on the firewall. It had a grommeted wiring harness for the cruise control, which I no longer use, so I removed it and added the two holes for the U-bolt and was in business. The only cut I had to make was for the shifter.
I have a Dakota Digital box on the way for VSS input, still need to scrounge up connectors for VSS and reverse lights but the hard part is past. Thanks everyone for taking time to post your stories, they really helped make this easy.
