i have tried using the search on here and could not come up with anything... so here it goes. i have an 87 iroc with a 5.0 tpi and a 700r4 trans. the trans will not shift out of first. it has a universal tv cable on it now and i just ordered a tv cable from gm today specifically for the car, since i am not sure how to adjust the universal one (it's kind of wierd) and i want to make sure that it is all set up correctly. SO.. my question is this.. how hard is it to install a tv cable with the trans in the car? do i need to drop the pan?? any info would be greatly appreciated as i am ready to get this thing on the road!

 

To install the TV cable isn't too difficult if you have easy access under the car. Once you get it run, and get the universal one out. You will see a small metal rod with a 90 degree bend barely sticking out of the transmission This is where your new GM TV cable gets attached to. then just ensure you hook up your other end. There has been a few different ideas on adjusting the TV cable from pushing in the D button and opening the throttle blades and letting it self adjust or going WOT on pedal and pulling back on tv until it stops. I don't know which is the most accurate but they both appear to work.
