Simple as that. How do I fill it? What is that little plastic tube at the top of my tranny for?

I'm going to jump rashly to the conclusion that this is a T-5...

The plastic tube is a vent.

You fill it by removing the plug about halfway up the pass side of the case, and use a pump like you can get for about $5 at the parts store to pump the lube in.

For the T-5 in my S10, i stuck a piece of rubber tubing in the fill hole and ran in up between the engine and the fender to the top of the truck. Then i poured the fluid down the hose, into the tranny. It may not be the "proper" way to do it, but it worked.

I've filled it by removing the shifter and pouring it down there unti it starts to drip out of the "fill hole."

Is this okay?

Yes Camaro that is fine. That is how some people like to do it. Unless you want to run the hose like NCZ28 said that works great too later man

Re: Really dumb question. Don't laugh. How do I fill my tranny with fluid?

I just drained gear oil out of my T5 that the dumbass who owned it before me had put in it, and to fill it with the proper Dexron fluid, I just used a bit of duct tape and about 8 inch's of rubber hose. I taped the hose into the tranny fluid bottle, and then stuck the hose end into the tranny and held the bottle so the neck was at the lowest point and kept squezing till empty. Then remove the hose and repeat with next bottle till the crap starts running out of the fill hole. Its a really cheap and super easy way to fill it.

Some people save their bottles from gear oil that have the tip for sliding a hose onto, then rinse them out and use them for tranny fluid. That works good too.

Obviously the best way is the store bought pump.
