Re: Gears
I purchased a rebuilt govloc off ebay for $210 shipped, my NEW 3.73 gears were $115 shipped and bought jegs mega install kit for 129.00 plus 12.00 shipping. That kit includeds bearings, shims, pinion seal, axle seals and axle bearings. Really not to badly priced but I sit back and wait for deals to pop up!

Re: Gears
The 2.73 uses the 2 series differential. You are going to need a 3 series for the 3.73 gears, or anything from 3.23 to 4.10. I recommend a 3 series Eaton posi. To set up a ring & pinion you must know how to set the pinion depth, bearing preload and backlash to get the correct contact pattern. If you don't get these right then the rear end will make noise and might not last very long. You will need a few special tools to do the job.

Re: Gears
If you're looking at various gear packages, you might note that some of the listings may read like 3:73 then 3:73thick. As stated above, you have the 2 series carrier, you'll have to have the "thick" gear to put 3:73's in.
