Is This Normal???

I just had my tranny rebuilt. I think the guy put in a manual valve body, because I can hold 1st gear at any rpm and downshift. But when shifting from 1-2 at high rpm it shifts but lags, it hangs at the rpm for a second and then drops a little, but on the 2-3 it shifts right away and there is a greater decrease in rpm. I am asking this because I just bought a G-Tech and ran it twice, the first time I spun thru 1st gear and with a friend in the car at 16.56 @ 86.7 mph, the second run with windows down and friend in the car 15.87 @ 92.9 mph, I figured the poor time is due to this lag in shifting from 1-2. Any ideas?

if your rpms rise then fall during a shift then your transmission is slipping. its just more noticable now that you have a shift kit cause before it wasnt shifting as fast. it has nothing to do with the valve body that is in there. your clutches are prolly wore out. might be rebuild time for you in the next few months.

Suspect the band on this one. Also check your servo teflon o-rings.

I readjusted my TV cable, and the car seems to pull hard and shift better in first, but I haven't had a chance to G-Tech it, I am going away for the weekend, but will post results when I get back.
