Re: TKO List of parts

I assume, by asking for a list, you're going to round up the parts rather than just order a swap kit. That being the case, here're a few things to get you started. Slip yoke. Might also require a conversion-style u-joint if your driveshaft is the correct length. But as you're going to a TKO600, you must want more torque capability than the T5, so it might be well to just get a stronger driveshaft. Unless you need more than a 4.10:1 rear gear, I'd suggest 3" O.D. tubing. 3.5" is a tight fit with a torque arm. 0.083" wall-tubing should suffice, 0.095" is probably overkill. And if you decide to have one built, order it with 1350 yokes at both ends. IIRC, the slip yoke for the TKO600 takes a 1350 u-joint anyway. Unstall the engine, bellhousing and trans. Be sure the rear axle is what is supporting the rear of the car, not jackstands to the underbody. Slide the slipyoke all the way in, then back out one inch. Now you can measure the center-to-center (of the u-joints) for driveshaft length.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. If you have a driveshaft made, and are still usung your original axle, you'll need to use a conversion style u-joint back there. There are NO 1350 yokes for either the 7.625" or 7.75" axles.

Re: TKO List of parts

depends on the tko you get, you need an adapter plate for the bellhousing, ford c6 style slip yoke, crossmember kit for a tko, or adapters, special pilot bearing, it's best to just order the f-late kit from fortes.

This is incorrect. The Astro yoke swap has been known for almost 10 years

Re: TKO List of parts

I stand corrected, thank you. What a silly thing to create.
