Corvette trans in a 84 Z-28 electrical?

I have a 93 corvette 700R4 I'm going to install in my 84 Z-28 H.O. I know the tail piece has to be changed but I also have a problem with an electrical plug as well. There are electric plugs on both transmissions. on the camaro's it is a rounded square black plug and on the vette trans its a round white plug. Both plugs are in the same place on the trans (left side or the oposite side from where the TV cable is). I need to know what is this plug? And how do I make it work in my camaro? Can I just swap the plugs out? What is the easiest and cheapest way to make this work? I need advise in a bad way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They're both for the lockup torque converter. There are a few ways to resolve this, but I'd suggest removing the pans from both, and then you can swap the plugs and wiring. The goal is to put the camaro electrical to the corvette trans. There may be more wires in one trans than the other, they may be routed different. Make a drawing of the camaro arrangement before undoing it, and transfer whatever all you can.

Re: Corvette trans in a 84 Z-28 electrical?

The vette trans has 5 prongs on its plug. The camaro trans has 4. Any Idea what each wires do? I looked in the pan of both and It would be simple enough to swap them, but I don't know what that will do to the trans. Any clues?

It doesn't matter what the corvette had. You have a camaro computer, use the camaro wiring. The 700 is a 700.

drop the pan, look at the underside of the plug, you'll see how it just snaps into place, IIRC. Some channellocks or 2 straight screwdrivers might do it. The plug should then slide up and out, again, IIRC.
