T5 Help
Alright guys here goes... i got a WC t-5 trans that I am wanting to put into my 1987 GTA that has a mildly modified 355 TPI motor in it. I am running into a couple questions though... Is the drive shaft the same length between a 770R4 and the T-5? Second is there a way to retain my sensor for my speedo?? and third what esle can I use off the 700R4 for the T-5? and any suggetions on what Brand of clutch to use... Thanks in advance.

Re: T5 Help
I moved your post from the T5 FAQ post as it is a general question and had nothing to do with the FAQ.
Yes the driveshafts are the same between T5's and 700R4's.
You need a VSS from a T5; an electronic one from an '86 to '89 Trans Am since its going in your '87 GTA. The 700R4 VSS is different and will not bolt into a T5.
I'm not sure if the torque arm mount and cat hanger mount is the same between 700R4 and T5. Someone else will have to chime in here. Or maybe its covered in the Automatic to Manual trans tech article and/or FAQ?
I prefer McLeod clutches. I've never had a problem with mine and it works great and holds my engine's power even better.
