has anyone ever had this problem with there TC and the flywheel mine is about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch short why is that? and how can i fix it? my th700r4 is out of a 84 caprice how can i tell if it has a 27 or 30 spline input shaft? any help please????

You mean the gap between the converter and flexplate? I usually push the converter all the way in the trans and then pull it out about 1/8 inch, use washers to take up the remaining space before installing bolts.
