T56 6SPD DRIVESHAFT LENGTH?
I KNOW EVERYONE HERE IS GOING TO TELL ME THAT YOU CAN USE AN AUTO/D OUT OF A THIRDGEN FOR MY T56 SWAP. THE T56 D-LINE IS SHORTER HOUGH. BY HOW MUCH? IT SOUND TO ME LIKE YOU WOULD HAVE TO SHORTEN THE AUTO D-LINE.
HOW ABOUT SOME GOOD TECH ANSWERS. ANYONE?
THANKS, MAN

Please dont type in all caps.
And no you dont have to shorten your driveshaft. The automatic and manuals use the same driveshaft, whether its a 700R4, 4L60, 4L60E, T5, or T56. They're all the same length driveshaft.

When I bought my driveshaft from Denny's DS, they had me measure the distance from the top flat surface of the rear yoke to the top flat surface of the tailshaft housing.
With the TH700-R4 this was 44-11/16".
When I got done swapping in my T56 I re-did the measurement and got 44-6/16"...the T56 is 5/16" longer than the 700.
I called Denny's and reviewed this with him, he indicates the DS length is no problem. My DS is 0.50" longer than a 4th gen aluminum DS, so definitely no issue if you're talking about reusing the stock piece.
