Transmission: mtx4 ,700r4, 4speed,
Axle/Gears: 3.27, 3.73
trans pan removal
is there an easy way to get to the last few bolts on the trans pan on a 700r4 that are under the crossmember or do i have to remove the crossmember

It is possible to get a ratchet/extension/socket or wrench on every one of them, but it's easier to just put a jack under the torque arm mount and drop the crossmember. Then you're gonna make a big mess, unless your pan already has a drain plug. If not, it's $6 well spent.

before i put my derale pan on mine i used to take out everybolt but the back ones that are a pita, then i would take them out just a little bit with a box end wrench to let the pan tilt down and drain more in the front of the pan, when it stops draining let the bolts out little by little....... hold the pan when they are almost out and finish taking them out, then tip the pan over in the drain pail you are using.....i also recomend why you are down there an energy tq arm bushing and a energy trans mount
