TH350 shift linkage problems
TH350 shift linkage problems
Hope someone can help me..
Here is my situation. I just swapped a 350 and TH350 out of a 76 camaro into m7 89 firebird. Got the 82 driveshaft I needed finally at a junkyard, but the shift linkage cable doesn't work right, it won't shift the TH350 I'm stuck in drive- 2 gears. The cable doesn't move. I'm using the cable that was in the camaro, because the one that was in my bird (which had a 2.8 and 700r4 in it) wouldn't bolt into the tranny (the bracket piece)
Question is does anyone know if I need a certain linkage or something do I get one from a 82 that had a 200 in it? Any help appreciated i'm new to this sort of stuff.. learned a lot this past year.
Thanks

Take the connector off the 200 and put it on the TH350. Should work fine. I swapped my 700R4 and just changed them and it worked.
The cable bracket doesn't really bolt up too good to the bottom of the tranny. One end kinda rests on top of a bolt. That will work but you'll be retightening it often.

Pete Jackson noisy GearDrive (which sounded
cool for about 5 minutes, now I'm sick of it)
Rebuilt TH350, 3.42 Rear Gears. LCA RLB's.
