Torque arm mount to other axles
Hello everybody
Its that time for me ... the time to pitch the old 10 bolt axle and upgrade it to something beefier. My question to you guys is this:
Is there out there a way to mount the torque arm to a different axle, other than our 10 bolt 7.5ers? Has anyone ever come up with any ideas? By this i do not mean using ladder bars or a four link setup. What i am wondering about is the way to mount our torque arms to, say, for example a 12 bolt or a Ford 8.8 from a different vehicle (leaving the spring perches, shock mounts, track bars, and panhard bar aside for now). And yes i know how much fun it is to weld steel stock to cast iron. I had to do it before. Not fun....
Also, i do know yes there is the option of buying the package deal from summit, Moser, or Currie. I know. I know about those. I m just interested what you guys think.

Re: Torque arm mount to other axles
Some people have come up with fabrication ideas but none are easy or cheap. By the time you're done, it can be cheaper to just buy an aftermarket bolt in axle.
There is a mount available to install a torque arm onto a 9" which is easy because the 9" housing is steel and not cast. Good welding is still required.
