What are people seeing for cruise RPM with 3.42s
The reason I ask is I have a 97 camaro 6sp (3.42s)and in 5th gear it turns 2500 at 70mph. I thought that the 5th gears are the same between the T56 and T5? When I do the math it says that it should be about 2300. What do you guys get? My wifes 87 T/A has 3.08s 5sp and I want to go to 3.42s but the car sees lots of highway time and I'd rather not be cranking 2500Rs all the time!!!
I just put 3:70 gears in my car last week and while running at 70mph , I see 2200 rpm's. This is behind a 5 speed.
