LT1 T56 with a LS1?
So I've been looking around for awhile and i was wondering if a LT1
transmission would bolt up to a LS1 engine. I was hoping to do the swap sometime in the future but the transmission will be going in long before the engine and I've read the LT1 T56 swap is easier to do.
Anyone who has done this or knows if this is possible please let me know.... thanks in advance

Re: LT1 T56 with a LS1?
The bellhousing/block bolts will work (except one), but the shorter LT1 input shaft, and deeper LS1 crank will leave about 3/4" between them, and trash the inputshaft/crank.
Short of buying a conversion bellhousing ($$$), you won't be able to make it work easily. You could keep your eye out for a LS1 Input-shaft, Mid-plate, bellhousing on classifieds while you're building/saving for the LS1 motor, since they are the only things different between the LT1 and LS1 T56 versions. (and someone to swap them for you correctly)
