Column Lock cable...

I am installing a hurst dual gate shifter. I have everything hooked up. My keys are stuck in the ignition. They will not turn to LOCK so I can take them out. I do not understand hwo to adjust the column lock cable so I can get my keys out.

My battery is still disconnected, but I dount that matters right?

I put a B&M shifter in my car, so I don't know how much I can help. But with the B&M you wire (like with a piece of bailing wire or something) the cable into the park position. So the lock cylinder always thinks the car is in park. That way the steering wheel will lock and you can get the keys out. If you push the cable as far foreward (toward the engine) as you can then it will be in the park position. I wired mine into place, but I don't know how Hurst wants you to do it.

Yeah listen to vicious, I dont have a B&M shifter, that means the car thinks its still in another gear besides park. I have to slam mine into park sometimes to get the lock to release.
