? about B&M th350 changeover kit.......
i just got the kit. My ? is...what's this crap about buying a GM insulator bracket or something like?the 2 GM part #'s are 10024028 and 10034259. I thought i was too just reuse all the old hardware. I don't really feel like buying MORE parts.....especially at GM's elevated costs. Or is this just B&M's way of saying put all new parts in? I figure i should be able to weld or drill something to work without having to buy this. I was just curious because i have never seen anyone ask about this.
BTW...I DID get a driveshaft today. It took about 3 hours in 4 different junkyards, but i found one (82-83). Best part is, it was sitting on the backseat already removed for me!

85 Berlinetta Iroc exterior NOW 454 powered, 4.10 gears, 275/60/15 Hoosier Quicktimes and a PILE of other goodies..........YES, it's street driven!

the part numbers are for the torque arm bushings. its best if you replace them. and either way you go, with new or the old ones you have to grind the rivets off the one that has the braket on it that mounts to the tranny. and then bolt it onto the b&m bracket.

that's what i figured. Now that i have it, I really DON'T like the kit. For like $150 CDN i got a bent piece of metal. Now i have to grind rivets off, and buy new bushings all because there kit flips everything upside down? Not really worth the hassle or the money IMHO.....this should be a SIMPLE bolt in

Why not just get the Energy Suspension polyurethane torque arm bushing? I put that in; you do have to grind off the rivets and re-use the original brackets, but the ES piece ran me (I think) under $20 US- and it's one piece.
Oh- I should add that the poly torque arm bushing really firmed up the back of the car... I definately noticed the improvement! If you've gotta replace the bushings anyway, might as well make it better than stock...
