i am new to using this automatic tranny and dont know if it is supposed to do this or if there is someway to fix this. okay, i get really good pickup from 0-60 then after i hit 60, i dont get good pickup at all. it seems like it is shifting from like 2nd gear to 4th gear or something. is there a kickdown switch or something to fix this. anyone else have this problem?

what gears do you have in your differential?

 

It's normal, I don't know why they designed it like that but looking in Jegs I see a "th700R4 kickdown kit" for $33.99,
, it's a valve that replaces an existing one in the valve body. It says it corrects the kickdown problem at 1/2 throttle and will change the kick down point to 3/4 throttle making highway cruising in fourth gear possible.
It depends on what year trans you have, some later than '87 kick down at higher speeds, it is a pain in the *** though. I had a '86 with a trans go 2/3 shift kit and it allowed full throttle cruise in fourth, I guess you have a different kit.
