2.8eng and a 3.1trans

2.8eng and a 3.1trans,, will the 3.1 tranny bolts holes line up with a 2.8 engin holes

the engin is a rebult 2.8 camout of a 89 buick regal (broke the tranny) the tranny is in a early 90's pontiac sunbird the moters look just alike but one says 2.8 and other 3.1??????????????

im trying to put a racecar back to life....

Transmission: T5

Axle/Gears: 3.42's

They are both 60 degree engines, anything that bolts to a 2.8 shoudl bolt up fine to a 3.1.

Sunbirds were FWD, their trannys will not work in a RWD Fbody

ya sunbirds are fwd so is buick regals
