Was this TC Already Aftermarket?
Well guys, make a long story short since I am getting ready to install the new transmission in about 6 weeks I bought a new ACC Boss hog Torque converter with a 2800 - 3200 stall. I know that TPI peaks torque at 3200 but the method to my madness is that after I am finished modding the intake since my car already has full headerback exhaust the torque peak will move higher up in the powerband and accommodate the the stall speed nicely.
But the main reason I'm writing this post is that it just hit me that the torque converter in the car right now might already be a non-stocker. Whenever we had the car up on the lift I'd always laugh at how this big blue torque converter stood out from the rest of my car's underbody. So my question is, since I doubt a stock TC is painted baby blue, who would manufacture this, and was buying the boss hog a pure waste of money or will the new stall speed work nicely and be an improvement over the current TC granted it was a junk brand.
