ok so i have a 88 firebird 5.7 TPI i noticed my transmission kick down cable has broken....my car still ran fine....what will that help if i get a new one put on?

 

help your tranny shift the way its spose to. does it shift hard and late from 1st to 2nd?

 

ya it jerks real hard....will it help my acceleration or any thing?

 

if its jerking real hard thats the effect of not having the TV cable hooked up properly and it will eventually hurt your tranny. buy yourself a new TV cable and make sure its set right. heres a link to properly set your TV cable

it wont help your acceleration time, but it will help your tranny live longer. if you want better acceleration time the best way is to get a posi rear with some good gears if you dont have any yet.

 

did any of the 5.7 birds come stock with posi? I'm wondering now what kind of rear is in my gta
