part # for GM 3.42 gears
Does anybody know the part# for GM 3.42 gears for a 1990 Camaro RS ? I think that I currently have 2.73's. Also has anybody used the SLP O.E.M. Zexel-Torsen differential ? What is your opinion of it. Thanks for the help.

Ring gear is p/n 26026835, pinion gear is p/n 26026779 (these two numbers I am sure of). I believe the part number for both together is 14085349, however, that was just my handwriting a page I had.
As for the Torsens, I have the HD Torsen in my 92Z/383, and the oem Torsen in my wife's 96 T/A w/RamAir. They behave very predictable, and have been very dependable. Smooth around corners, and predictable when engaging/dis-engaging.
If you're building any power, I'd seriously look at the HD Torsen. I've got pics of the two side by side on the workbench before I started the install. HD is definately beefier and more rigid.
But compared to an old worn out oem Auburn or cone clutch style, the SLP take-offs are a steal.

The best option is to get the SLP torsen posi, a used set of 3.42's from a 4th gen, and the right speedo gears (search this forum for that, I dont remember).
