th350 help
okay everyone,
I am a newbie and I have posted this question a few times, and I think some of the more experienced guys on here are kinda shaking their heads and moving past my question, but I seriously need some help-please. I have a th350 I took out of my parts car. when I removed it, it was hooked up, driveshaft in it, the whole works.I removed it, took it to my local trans shop to have it rebuilt. the shop owner informed me that it had the 700r4 tailshaft housing on it (im guessing the previous owner thought this was a good idea due to the torque arm mounting provisions), and it was a sketchy setup b/c the output shaft is too far inside the housing. long story short, I now have a fully rebuilt th350 with a 700r4 housing and the driveshaft that i took from the parts car. Im losing sleep over this! what is the harm in running it this way? should I just bite the bullet and swap the tailshaft housing for a short th350 housing with a torque arm kit+ new driveshaft, or is there any way my current setup may work?I dont know what to do, and im broke so if there isnt any harm in what ive got ill use it, but i definitely dont wanna wreck my newly rebuilt trans either. what is even involved in swapping housings? help please!!!!
