Find a wasted trans, I don't think it even matters if it's a V8 one or what, just as long as it's a GM one. I have no idea what the vulture in your locale would charge, it's a supply-and-demand thing, with a factor for how desperate they thin kyou are (how much you're willing to pay). But considering that you can get a whole working guaranteed 6-cylinder trans for less than $100 in some places, I wouldn't think it would cost too much.

Sorry to hear that happened. How were you trying to get it out? I usually just beat it out with a big hammer, I've never had a case fail. Use a large socket or something on the bearing to drive it out straight.

I was using a press. It looked like it was in there pretty good. Damn it anyways.
