Metric or SAE??

Hello,

Looking to confirm whether a 91 firebird would have metric or SAE hardware? I automatically assumed SAE but I read elsewhere that it was ALL metric. Or perhaps there are some of each? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Metric or SAE??

What about most drivetrain bolts? I'm having a hell of a time removing the bellhousing to engine bolts (I think there are 6) and it looked like the closest sae, whichever it was, was slipping.

Also, any tips to get those bastards off would be much appreciated.

Re: Metric or SAE??

I have a 1987 and it is anyones guess what the fasteners are, I have both SAE & Metric from front to back. So I would just be ready with both SAE & Metric tools.

Re: Metric or SAE??

Thanks guys,

Seems that metric is working for all the bolts under there. I should pick up some more metric tools!
