I am swapping from an automatic to a 5 speed transmission. My camaro is an 89 and has a cable driven speedometer. The 5 speed tranny I am swapping in is a 91 and is not cable driven. Is there anyway I can convert the tranny so it works with a speedometer that is cable driven. Thanks in advance.

 

You just need the speedo gear housing from a cable-driven car, and of course the right speedo gears for your rear end gears. You can get all that new at the dealer, or try to find one at the boneyard, AFAIK all T-5s and other GM manual transmissions use the same piece.
