Help with speedo gear questions..Please!

Well I'm finally getting around to installing my 3.42's. A noticeable change I hope from the 2.73's . Anyways , my 86 Trans Am appears to have the electronic sensor on the tailhousing. I've gotten the info on the speedometer gear changes I need to do (15 tooth gray #8642620 drive and 41 tooth yellow #25513048 driven ). But what about this sensor. Does it also have to be replaced or can the existing one be used
