Transmission Clunk

Anybody out there no why my 86 Iroc Z 305 LG4
clunks when putting shifter into Drive or Reverse, is there anything that I should be looking for when I get the car on a ramp/hoist and the possible remedys etc? Any info gratefully received.

you have a broken trans mount, buy a poly mount from ES, they're pretty much bullit proof

The 86 and earlier 700r4s often have a clunk to them anyway. Changed by GM in 87.
