Big Tranny trouble Im being #*#%$^ around need help
K I paid $2000 for my tranny last year. The Warranty was 12months or 20000km. Well its two month after a year and only 10000km and I just blew the Torque Converter. This is what pisses me off. I called them they said its not that long after will use the warranty and fix it up quick, so I paid over $200 and had it towed to them they take it apart and say its know fault of there's I was to hard on the part that broke and they could knock off a couple hundred on the new converter and slap it back together with all the broken metal shavings in it or redo it all and cost me another $2000. Is that @#$%^ or what. Can anyone give any ideas would it be better to tell them to Foff and buy a Raptor or another new one or take the chance and put an inline filter in it and hope for the best. thanks for any help Fumming Timbo.

Other than selecting (and then charging you for) a quality converter, that is the one thing that is for the most part out of their control. If the converter loaded the tranny with metal it is going to be a domino affect with the new converter. If they are savvy business men they should try to accomadate you to some degree. That is the most the really have obligations to do since it technically is over warranty.

What happened to the TC? Mine grenaded a few days after being installed by Lee Myles. The piece of the TC that slid over the trans input shaft cracked off, and ripped the front seal. They put a new TC on, and I drove that way for a little over two years.
Then, my trans blew. This time, I took it down myself to save labor charges. I saw the same piece of the torque convertor had cracked! Failure of the trans turned out to be that cracked piece lodged in the fluid pump- it blocked the fluid, and my trans ran dry.
Don't know if this little story helps or not... if your convertor cracked like mine did, you might be okay for a few years. If something more drastic happened inside the convertor, you might want to get the thing rebuilt again- and you might want to try another shop.
