350ci manual conversion?

I'm sure it's been asked before, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me find out if it's possible to put a manual transmission into a 1988 IROC-Z? I've heard of people putting the regular 5-spd that comes stock with the 305ci into it, but just ending up with alot of problems because the transmission can't handle the extra power. But I"ve also heard of the T56 6spd, and I'm wondering if maybe that could handle the extra power?

Re: 350ci manual conversion?

yes you can convert it, yes the t56 is stronger.

Use the "search function" or even check the stickies at the top of the page for the rest of the info.

there is even a tech article in the tech section on this swap.
