Hey, The rear end on my 84 z28ho just blew out. I was hoping to get some help on how and what to look for to replace it. For example, what other years and difs are compatible with my car, and how much should i expect to pay for a used posi rear, ect.

 

Any Camaro or Firebird unit, 82-92, will bolt in. Absolutely nothing else will, except a 94-up F car one, in which case you'll have to deal with it being 2" wider on each side. If you get a pre-90 one with disk brakes, you'll have to swap some hydraulic components.

That said, you're going to be hard put to get a junk one with 3.73 gears like the one that you had. You might want to consider repairing yours. What actually went wrong with it, and what exactly was it? (Posi? Disks?)
