question about th350
question about th350
does a th350 kill on gas and also does a turbo 600 tran kill on gas and is there a such trans like a turbo 600 becuz i never heard of one any where ,also my liein a$$ friend said that he talked to the guy that sold me my car and my friend said "o yeah u dont have a th350 u have the turbo600" and well this kid b.s. everyday 365days a year and well ive asked around and the th350 kills on gas becuz it doesnt have an over drive gear and i never heard of that turbo600 that he says and well i dont beleive him one bit becuz the shifter i got on there is a b&m and its meant for a th 350 or a 700r4 and well i dont got the 700r4. so please let me know thanx

Never heard of a 600. At least not GM.
There's nothing wrong with a TH350. Gas milage won't be as good as having a 700R4 because it won't have an overdrive. You won't notice it that much unless you have rear end gears like 3.45, 3.73, 4.10 etc. Having high gears like 2.77 will still give around 20-25 mpg with a TH350.
The overdrive of a 700R4 just drops the rpm down while crusing down the highway. Lower rpm means less gas is burned resulting in better milage.

thank u very much with the help now i can go kick my fiends @$$ and tell him that i don have a turbo 600 and well with my car i have a rebuilt 305 mainly for power and i get okay gas milage with the th350 but is there an other way i can tell if it is a th350 like is there a code on the trans if so which side is it on . please let me know

Look at the trans pan...a TH350 looks like a square with a corner cut off.
