Torque Convertors

Oh, I have a feeling I will get the ole "look through the Archives" reply on this one. But since this will be my first time in this board. I am hoping for a simple answer.

Here it goes: I have an 87 Formula, that has a lot of minor mods, including a NoYoYo SysKoKal Kit from Gil Younger, on a Brand new Trans. It would pull so darned hard when the engine was cold I literally had to pop it into neutral to get the car to stop. So I put Baer Brakes on my bird it still pulls pretty good, but now I can stop.

What I want to know is about Torque convertors, will that help my situation. I was thinking about a 2200 or so.

here are some of my more major mods:

Engine & Trans & Drivetrain
.040 over 305, (312) Converted to TPI, Ported & polished intake, Plenum & runners, 9.5:1 Compression, SLP Cam, SLP headers, Cat Back Exhaust, Gil Younger NoYoYo SysKoKal Trans Kit, 1LE Aluminum driveshaft, Richmond 3.73:1 Gears.

any help is always appreciated

John

That would be the TransGo Shift Kit for a 700.

IMO I love that shift kit, I have driven a 91 Formula and a 92 T/A Convertible with TPI, and they do NOT have the positive feeling I get from this transmission. They seemed a little slushy.

I would recommend the TransGo kit. (Gil Younger)

Is there any other suggestions for which torque convertor I should get...

I am considering going to a 383 eventually, should this make a difference which torque conv I would go with?

The 383 should make strong torque down low so you probably don't want to go any higher in stall than the one I pointed out.

By the way, I have a '63 Riv. Do you know of any good sites for cars like that?
