You will love the 3.42's. They will get ya out of the hole much quicker and give ya a good hit going to second. To me,3.42's are about the best all around gear. You will lso need to correct your speedometer.

I had a friend that had a camaro with a LT1 vette engine in it with a paxton super charger. When he switched to the 3.42 gears it made all the difference in the world. It didn't seem to rob the car from low end power nor high end. As a matter of fact i was so impressed with them i ran out and put them in my camaro the next week.

88greyiroc, if you do go with the gears... list the part #... I sold my 88 IROC-Z to my buddy. It had 2.77's in it. He was thinking about 3.27, but it sounds like 3.42 would be the way to go.

-Thanks

BTW, would it be wise to go to 3.73's?

2.77 is a 9-bolt ratio, you have a 9-bolt rear end in your car. You cannot use 10-bolt gears like a 3.42. You need 9-bolt specific gears. They come in 3.27, 3.45, and 3.70. Search this board for 88 427 Camaro (his name is Miles). He is the hookup now for 9-bolt gears and posi units. Or look for other 9-bolt posts.
