Everyone who has put a T56 inside their car, can you please tell me how noisy or quiet it is? I'm just trying to determine what the "normal" noise level is for this transmission. Thanks.

There is a little grinding type noise in first gear, but that is a normal thing. It's not really loud or anything. The only other thing I really noticed different from an automatic was that because I cut a hole in the trans tunnel and couldn't seal it up as good as in a stock T56 car there is a little more road noise, but nothing unbearable.

Just a slight rattling noise when stationary and idling in neutral with the clutch out, which is common for this trans/clutch setup.

The rattle goes away as soon as I depress the clutch. I've listened to a number of 4th gens and they all have the same noise.

Yep. Mine does that. I thought I remembered reading online that it was normal a long time ago, but this time when I looked I couldn't find anything about it.
