I just put a used 700-R4 tranny with 15000 miles on it in my 89 Formula. In overdrive the tranny shifts fine. But when I shift manually it doesn't work right. If I downshift manually the RPM's should go up but they go down to about 500 where the car idles at and if I step on the gas it feels like it is in neutral until about 2500 RPM's then it kicks in gear kinda hard. I put a new torque converter in but it didn't help the problem. I later found out the tranny sat for a few years. I heard it could be the input sprag. Is that a big job any idea of cost. The last tranny I had did the same thing. OD then stopped working until finally the tranny would not engage any gear. I did not attempt to work on it. Helps when you find another used one for $20. This one has worked good for about 4 mos. now. But thats about all I can tell ya.
