Cost for synchro rebuild?

I posted this before, but forgot to ask for cost. When I shift to 4th I have to push in the clutch, shift to neutral, then back into 3rd, then into 4th, but making sure that the revs are 1500 or less. I forget who, but they suggest checking the synchros, and the shift fork. ANy idea on cost for this?

He also suggested bleeding and refillng clutch master/slave cylinder, which I can do myself.

Thanks!

I just bought a rebuilt(syncros/bearings) kit for my non w/c 5spd for $120 localy @ standard transmission. These were Temken bearings, I don't know how prices may vary. You can try 5speeds.com they have some rebuilt kits and 5 speed info there.

Are we guessing a little under $200 to have a shop do it? :-)

I've heard of people paying 800 and up to 1600 for a shop to rebuild a manual tranny. It will be more if you have any broken forks/sleeves and the like. I would recommend that you consider doing it yourself. My dad and I rebuilt my T5 using just a Chiltons tear apart diagram and it wasn't very hard.

I personally wouldn't even think of looking at the inards af an auto but a T5 is pretty simple.

Just something to consider.
