ATTN! Need opinions/help ASAP! Tranny crossmember bolts, one gone...

The topic says it all really... my friend and I... (or rather, he) did the tranny mount on my car today. Aside from the fact that the fit was really crappy (had to drill the crossmember to accept the bolt that goes up into the mount), we snapped a bolt... We probably didn't have the tranny supported well enough, and when he went to break it, he did, quite literally. We got it all back together and on and everything, everything tight, and I drove it home, trying to take it easy. My question is, how important is that 4th crossmember bolt, can I drive around for a month like I did with my broken tranny mount and not worry, or should I empty my bank account to have it drilled and retapped by a shop immediatly? It will get done -eventually-, I just need to know where to put it on my priority list. Any advice/help is greatly appreciated.

You dont need to take it to a shop. Many places sell bolt extractors that fit std drills. If you can get it out, you may not neet to tap it (which you can also do yourself).

Don't use a twisted EZ out on that bolt.
They usually are too brittle and break off in the bolt. I soak broken bolts with PB
Blaster or Free All for a few hours, then I drill a hole through the midlle of the bolt
and drive in a Torx bit of the proper size that will spline the hole, then I unscrew it with a steady pull with a breaker bar. I have
had good luck using Lisle and S-K Torx bits
for this(no breakage).

I never thought of that. I have a post on the same subject in the General section. I broke 2 of mine. I've had bad luck with EZ Outs in the past, also. I'm going to drill, and tap mine to same size. If you know what size tap to get, you can get out pretty cheap. Just take one of the good bolts with you to the store, and they'll get you the right tap.
